Hiking & cycling tours 

 

Explore the unique landscapes on foot or by bicycle. The region Clos-du-Doubs offers numerous hiking and cycling paths. The house is located at the national Swiss hiking, cycling and bike trails (For more information, click on the link)

 


Water fun & canoeing along the  "Doubs" river

 

 

Discover and enjoy the breathtaking nature and river landscape of the Doubs in or on the water. The border river meanders in a unique in Switzerland natural way with the region Clos-du-Doubs and with its humid climate flora and fauna provides optimal living conditions. Besides fishing, the river also attracts canoeists. Because of the nature protection legislation and individual rapids but a canoeing on these waters is only under professional guidance recommended. Barbecuing fun & outdoor playing in the large garden

 

 

The 300 m2 large garden offers adults and children space to play and relax. With a seating area with barbecue grills, a play castle with slide and sandbox can on the lawn many other ball and sports games are exercised (Badminton/Soccer/Volleyball, etc. ).

At bad weather, the former stable area with table football, table tennis, billard, air hockey and darts invites to pastimes and linger.

Below we present a small selection of possible activities and sights of the extensive range of unspoiled and unique nature and culture of the Canton of Jura.


 ST. URSANNE

 

The romantic town of St. Ursanne, located in the heart of the Jura right on the Doubs river. The town has changed little over the centuries and boasts a medieval architectural elements. In addition to the three city gates the former monastery, founded by the Benedictines is a highlight of the city.  

 


PRUNTRUT (PORRENTRUY)

 

Porrentruy is to Delsberg, the second largest city in the canton of Jura and is a "cultural capital" of Canton. The medieval city, is home to several museums, including the Jurassic Museum of Natural Sciences with the impressive botanical gardens.  

Architecturally impressive Porrentruy by a picturesque old town with numerous burgher houses in Gothic, Baroque and neoclassical style and the imposing castle in the north of the city.

 

 


RÉCLÈRE - GROTTOES AND PREHISTO-PARK

 

Immerse yourself in the mysterious and beautiful world of caves and embark on a journey of discovery in the Prehistoric Park of Réclère in the breathtaking world of dinosaurs.

 

Grottoes of Réclère - On a guided tour of 1.5 km, expect various formations of stalactites and stalagmites. The partly over 250,000 year-old sparkling rocks act like sculptors created and draw young and old in their spell.

 

Useful information: The tour lasts about an hour and takes place two to three times daily. The temperature in caves inside is approximately seven degrees throughout the year. Warm clothes therefore is also recommended in the summer months.

 

Prehisto Park - The detail crafted park takes you to a land before time. On an informative signposted path of about 2 km you will encounter terrifying giant lizards and experience a unique journey through the evolution of life.

MEDIEVAL FESTIVAL ST. URSANNE

 

Every 2 years, on the second of July weekend, transforming thousands of enthusiasts the historic village in a medieval village, market and fairground. Several attractions, shows and medieval delicacies offer all ages an experience of a special kind. INTERNATIONAL MOUNTAIN RACE - ST. URSANNE / LES RANGIERS

 

The famous hill climb of St.Ursanne / Les Rangiers is part of the European - Mountain Championship (FIA) and the only race of the series that will take place on Swiss soil.

 The race takes place every year on the third weekend of August.
